Police were called just after 5pm on Sunday 19th August to a report of a burglary in progress in Cerimon Gate, Stoke Gifford.
A man and a woman had been seen acting suspiciously and the window of a house had been smashed.
Officers searched the area on the ground and the air support helicopter joined the search at about 5:30pm, after a man was seen running through nearby gardens.
A woman was arrested at about 5:45pm near the Parkway Tavern and she remains in police custody today, Monday 20th August.
Police enquiries into the incident continue. Anyone with any information which could help is asked to contact us through the website www.avonandsomerset.police.uk/contact, or on 101.

The incident provoked a surge of messages on the Twitter micro-blogging platform, with many people asking why the helicopter was circling for so long over the Bradley Stoke/Stoke Gifford area.
The helicopter of the Western Counties Air Operations Unit is based at nearby Filton Airfield. Avon and Somerset Police announced in April that the helicopter will continue to be based at Filton for the foreseeable future, despite the closure of the airfield at the end of 2012.
