Network Rail is inviting local residents to a drop-in public consultation event that will explain proposals to reconstruct a local railway bridge as part of the Great Western Main Line electrification project.
The work relates to Pearsons Brick Yard Bridge, which provides access from Harry Stoke Lane to industrial buildings near Hunts Ground Road and also carries regional walking and cycling routes.
According to a planning application recently submitted to South Gloucestershire Council, reconstruction of the bridge is necessary to increase the clearance between the railway track, new overhead line equipment and the bridge structure, and also to provide sufficient protection for pedestrians using the bridge.
The consultation event takes place on Wednesday 3rd September from 4pm to 7pm at the Old School Rooms in North Road.
