Plans to introduce new or amended waiting restrictions on sections of 40 residential roads in Stoke Gifford have reached the final stage of development. The scheme involves “introducing double yellow lines to improve access and visibility on roads that have been identified and converting existing advisory white keep clear lines to double yellow lines”.

Bristol Parkway set to become “station for the 21st century” (in 10-20 years’ time)
Plans to transform Bristol Parkway Station have been approved by South Glos Council’s Cabinet, despite some elements of the proposals – such as reducing the number of parking spaces – receiving less than enthusiastic support in a public consultation. The new vision for the site aims to create a modern station that acts as a gateway to the region but is also better connected with neighbouring communities.

A man who set fire to 20 vehicles in north Bristol on a single night, causing hundreds of thousands of pounds of damage, has been jailed. The incidents happened in Stoke Gifford, Little Stoke, Patchway and Bradley Stoke in the early hours of Sunday 3rd April last year. A large number of the vehicles were minibuses which belonged to a community transport provider.

One of the new MetroBus stop shelters installed over a year ago on Gipsy Patch Lane has had to be almost completely dismantled and reinstalled due to a design oversight. The work was deemed necessary after it was discovered that there was a “small risk” of vehicles coming into contact with the rear of the shelter’s roof (on the service road side).
