A charity Santa float is expected to make a tour of the Stokes this Friday night (9th December 2022), raising funds for the maternity unit at Southmead Hospital.
All being well, The Float Group’s enormous decorated trailer will make three separate trips on the same night, through parts of Stoke Gifford, Little Stoke and Bradley Stoke (see map below).
Starting at 6pm, Route 1 will take in Ratcliffe Drive, Hatchet Road (part), North Road and Knightwood Road in Stoke Gifford.
The float will then head over to Little Stoke where Route 2 will see it head up Little Stoke Lane, starting from the Gipsy Patch Lane end and going as far as the Stoke Lane / Braydon Avenue mini-roundabout. It will then turn right and traverse the full length of Braydon Avenue down to the mini-roundabout on Brook Way.
Route 3 will then commence at the western end of Baileys Court Road in Bradley Stoke, near the Sherbourne’s Brake Roundabout (a.k.a. Beehive Roundabout), and head towards the roundabout near Baileys Court Inn. From there the float will turn left into Webbs Wood Road before finishing for the night near the entrance to the car park at Tesco Express.

A link to an online tracker will be made available on the Facebook page of The Float Group just before the float sets off.
