Bristol’s Andy Hamilton, a regular contributor to BBC Radio 4’s The Food Programme will be in Stoke Gifford on Saturday 29th June.

The Friends of Meade Park are hosting a free community event in the park and all are welcome. Meeting at the car park [map] at 10am, Andy will take the group on an informal and informative ramble through the park, identifying plants and trees and talking about their habitat.
Andy has been sharing his knowledge about the natural world with Bristol for the last 15 years. He is author of Booze for Free and the Selfsufficientish Bible and founder of the Association of Foragers .
Andy will help the group identify and learn about the various splendid trees in the park, as well as the other plants and wild-life that inhabit the area, but which often go unnoticed. Be prepared to wow your friends and family with your new-found knowledge after the event.
Sponsored by Stoke Gifford Parish Council, the event is suitable for all ages and will go ahead, rain or shine! Wear suitable shoes if wet!
This is the first of a number of community events scheduled by the Friends of Meade Park over the year.
