Plans to build a large student accommodation block on a vacant plot within a Stoke Gifford retail park have moved a step forward with the submission of a formal planning application. The proposed building ranges from five to nine storeys in height and provides 330 student bedrooms. It is intended for students attending the nearby UWE Frenchay Campus and, once complete, would be managed by the university.

Plans to build a student accommodation block on an unused part of a Stoke Gifford retail park have been revealed by Canada Life Asset Management, in partnership with UWE. The proposed building, ranging from five to nine storeys high, would be built on the footprint of the garden centre of the former B&Q superstore at Filton Retail Park, off Fox Den Road.
